Diamonds - Carat Weight

A diamond scale is used to determine the carat weight of a diamond. Similar to our use of kilograms or pounds, a diamond's weight is measured in carats (or ct).

One full carat is equivilent to 100 points. Therefore, half a carat is often referred to as 50 points, and so forth. Although carat weight is very straight forward to measure, two diamonds of equal weight can not only vary in price but they can also vary in appearance. This is due to how proportionally the diamond is cut
