1951 IWC 18KT Gold Calibre 88

Circa 1951 IWC Schaffhausen gentleman’s dress watch featuring a solid 18KT yellow gold case and IWC’s highly regarded manual-wind Calibre 88 movement. A beautifully understated example of mid-century Swiss watchmaking, with the thin proportions and clean styling characteristic of IWC dress watches of the period. Movement number 1,241,459 and case number 1,275,599. Fitted to a leather strap. The crown is unsigned, which is consistent with a number of IWC watches from this period.
